Whats happening to the local church?
Have you noticed? There are church buildings all throughout the Upper Canada region for sale. Recently the Presbyterian church in Cardinal was closed and a sign went up. Where the church was once the center of a community, they are now having to close their doors.
Living in rural Upper Canada has opened our eyes to the needs of communities and the longing of the local church. This year God has been very specific in calling us to “breathe new life into dry bones.”
What does it mean to "breathe new life into dry bones"?
New breath represents the youth that become a source of new life in local churches as a result of how we serve them and the local church. We are committed to investing in local churches because we believe that the church is God's expression of His love to and through His people. We understand that our job is a transitional one, connecting youth to their life-long church families.

What serving the church means to us...
Everything we do must start and end with the local church. Upper Canada YFC's job is to always shine light on the local church and not to fly our own flag in search of recognition. From the beginning we have said that if we are doing our job, people will not know we have been there, but will see a thriving and healthy church family instead.
The struggle...
Because we are always shining light on the local church, and not waving our own flag, people don’t see the impact of what we are doing. If people do not see the impact of what we are doing, they struggle to understand why they should partner with us and help sustain the ministry.

About a month after we trained 40 small-group leaders to run Alpha in their local churches, stories began to emerge...

In many of the lives impacted, you will see a path leading back to the moment YFC partnered with a local church. YFC is innovative in the way we see and do ministry, often enticing the church to be the same. We will never forget that our place in the Kingdom of God is to serve and be a stage-hand to let the church shine in all that they do.

Now that you have heard our heart for the Upper Canada region, would you please ask God if this is something He would have you invest in? The breakdown of what we are needing is as follows:
$920.00 / month for staff salary
$500.00 / month for ministry expenses
We are also looking to hire new staff in the fall to assist and grow our reach in the Upper Canada region.
Someone to oversee the Alpha outreach in high schools for fall of 2017 (and other potential church partnerships in the Brockville region).
Volunteer coordinator to help recruit, train and maintain a volunteer database.
